Reaching The Crest
Camp with The Way Out Ministries is an opportunity for kids to step away from the distractions and hardships of life and experience the peace and beauty of God’s creation. It’s a time to build friendships, connect with caring leaders, have fun, and most importantly grow in their faith.
Last year, Alyssa made a life-changing decision at camp to invite Christ into her heart. Since then, she has been actively involved in weekly programs at The Way Out Ministries. This year, she returned to camp and was honored as Camper of the Week. The camp director shared that he saw something special in her— a deep hunger for a closer relationship with Jesus.
During free time, Alyssa could be found studying her Bible, memorizing scripture, taking detailed notes during chapel, and asking thoughtful, faith-filled questions. This year’s camp theme, “Reaching the Crest,” focused on taking intentional steps to grow spiritually and press into God. Alyssa is living that out wholeheartedly, and we’re excited to see how God continues to move in her life. We thank God for camp sponsors each year that help kids like Alyssa grow in their faith and experience the great outdoors in ways they could never afford otherwise. These donations have eternal effects!

Family Camp
The last of our four camps for the season brought families together in the California, San Bernardino Mountains at Dogwood Camp. Families went hiking, fishing, and fellowshipping in the great outdoors! They joined together for a fireside meal, worship and a closing message by Pastor Ryan on their last night. Once again, sponsors helped to make this family camping trip a bonding experience of faith and fun.
GET ‘ER DONE MISSION
In September The Way Out Ministries officially signed a three year lease for a ministry building in Fort Worth, Texas. That same month The Gathering Church sent a small mission team with a $7,000.00 gift to begin renovations and to bless director Rachel Perez and her family and friends who are invested in the ministry start. The four man team from California worked alongside Rachel and her husband Manny and Fort Worth volunteer Cheryl for an exhausting week that included a wall demolition, clean up and a whole lot of painting! As they say in Texas— “we got ‘er done!” , but a new team will be coming out in November to get the finishing touches ready for an opening sometime in January 2026.
The team worked hard but managed to squeeze in a rodeo bull riding event at the Cowtown Coliseum and some great food at Heim Barbeque-compliments of TWO Board member Hector Mora, who is also a Fort Worth resident. As soon as the team returned home Rachel sent pictures of her son Isaiah, friends, and even volunteers from the Fort Worth Police Department who continue with Rachel to “get ‘er done”! We are excited by all God is doing in Fort Worth and so appreciate the special gifts, hard work and designated donations of all those involved in taking the ministry of Christ to Texas. Please say a prayer for Rachel, her volunteers and a whole new city to reach for Jesus in Fort Worth!
