COMFORT ROOMS COMPLETE!

Facility Director, Mark Canapit and his construction team tackled the challenging task of constructing a septic tank and bathrooms for men and women for our church in San Jose. This construction project was about more than just bricks and mortar.    Donations came from their sister church in America, The Gathering, in Hawaiian Gardens, California and through the handmade jewelry sales of Mahal Kita (I Love You)—  an American business that was donated and rebranded to give 100% of its sales to The Way Out Ministries Philippines. The bathrooms have now been completed and are in use!  In fact—just in time for a visit from our mission team in mid-October!

“Mission Possible” Team

The first mission team from The Way Out Ministries (TWO) in Hawaiian Gardens, CA, USA came to the Philippines  October 8-17.  The team of twelve was led by Pastor and CEO Barry Bruce, his son and musician Pastor Ryan and his daughter Rachel Perez, the Coordinator of Ministry Affairs for TWO. Also on the team were two members of the board from TWO— President Sarah Hwang and her husband Leo and Treasurer David Doyne and his wife Yomiko.  Five other team members represented the congregation of The Gathering Church from Hawaiian Gardens, CA— the sister church of Chapel By The Beach in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The team was joined by Pastor Rowell Castillo of Calvary Chapel Montalban and his team of eight along with our Philippines staff and volunteers.  Together the group Outreach concert at Barangy 8 (TWOP) presented a concert in the basket ball court next to The Way Out Ministries Philippines at Barangay 8 where several people gave their lives to Christ!   Earlier that same day some members from the team presented the gospel to over 100 students at the college in San Jose.  On Saturday the team ministered to the many excited children at Chapel By The Beach in a Christmas kick off program that featured song, skits, games, crafts and a Bible lesson, followed by lunch and a recreational swim on the beach.  On Sunday the team participated in the church service followed by a baptism!

Good weather permitted the group to hike several miles to the farmlands and offer a special program at Unida Christian Church-Alitaytayan where the team brought music, drama, an evangelistic message and food packs to the people there.  Many people had their spiritual eyes opened and received Christ. The  team also distributed prescription glasses to many who saw their physical eyes restored too!  What a wonderful time it was to share in ministry and friendship together. There is so much more to show and say that will not fit in this newsletter.  The teams will share at their churches, with their families and with their friends.  Many have promised to return.
